How to make a Painting

Be Present! And understand there needs to be an emotion, some sort of meaning, or purpose attached to the event... to whatever it is that we want to remember

Be Open Hearted (Buddists call it Tsewa)
Be Courageous (John Mayer says “Be Stupid Brave”)
Be Grateful (I believe it is the gateway to Creativity)
Be your “self” and Let Go of any fear of judgement (SELF LOVE)

Make a Doodle - make LOTS!

“Your Brain on Art”: Exploring the bold new world of neuroaesthetics. It turns out that rhythmic, repetitive movements with the hands can release serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin in the brain and alter brain wave activity, which collectively contribute to a calmer, more reflective state.

The transformational qualities of color (blue and green can
reduce anxiety), biophilia (the power of connecting with nature and
fellow humans), poetry and other artistic expressions extend far
beyond enhanced wellbeing to restoring mental health, healing the
body, amplifying learning, fostering community and an overall
flourishing.

Pick a Doodle

Choose a doodle and maybe even make a blend of a couple doodles that you really like. KISS (Keep it Super Simple) - A Design Principle from the 1960’s really works.

Using chalk sketch the doodle on your surface. Canvas, wood, plaque, rock, paddle…. really anything can work as a surface to paint on.

Now the fun begins as you are ready to paint! FYI: I like to layer my colours as it adds energy and “life force”.
